Well ... things have happened to mess up my morning update (and it all looked very good through midday but ...)
It snowed last night a little more than expected. Nearly 1" at my house. Probably the same of more at yours. The snow showers were more intense than I first thought. The first clue was late yesterday that they might be.
Weather will give clues to what is happening. Last night was a clue. Due to the more intense nature of the snow last night, I suspect the snow showers of today will also be intense, esp. those this afternoon/evening.
If it snows before 3 pm, it will struggle to stick even on the colder surfaces with temps in the mid and upper 30's. However, if it snows after 3 pm the snow will begin to stick on non-paved surfaces more easily.
Gist of all this? Coating to 2" snow by Thu morning (wouldn't be shocked to see a 3" spot over the ridges). It will vary from location to location. But don't be surprised to see some heavier snow showers later today and this evening.
We could do this all over again on Fri. Welcome to winter.
