The How and the Why
God:
Naturally, the most important “part” to our ministry, is God Himself. Please notice that He takes center stage. He is the focus. All that we do must revolve around Him, be enabled by Him, done to honor Him, and be done in His name. Without God none of this is possible, and with God the impossible becomes possible.
Biblical Foundation for Life:
Everything we do as a church body is to be filtered and guided by the words that came from God: His commands, instructions, and principles found in the Bible are used to guide decisions, leadership, discipleship, evangelism, Youth and Children, and everyday life. This is most clearly stated in Matthew 7:24-25 ...
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."
Creation / New Life:
As we fulfill our mission, through the power of the Holy Spirit (John 3:5-8) souls are won for Christ. As a church body the bulk of our planned outreach events will be conducted outdoors, i.e. God's creation; weather permitting of course.
John 3:5-8 ... "Humans can reproduce human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven. So don't be surprised at my statement that you must be born again. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 5:17 …Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Biblical / Disciple Life:
God instructs His people because He intends for us to be rooted and built up in Christ, overflowing with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-8). Growth is natural and protective, so we are not tossed about by every new thought and idea found in the world (Ephesians 4:14).
Colossians 2:6-8 … So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
Ephesians 4:14 … Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
