Happy Memorial Day! Summer is coming and it will feel like it today with loads of sunshine, a gentle breeze and warm temps into the middle 80s! Just beautiful! I hope to get to enjoy it with the privilege of living in the USA.
This week will feature quite the roller coaster ride. Warm to very warm start, then big drop by Thursday with cool east winds as a big high builds down the coast from the NE and gives us a strong onshore flow (meaning low clouds, and cool air) and then warming conditions into next weekend and early next week. I was too early with the warmth for late this week as I alluded to last week. We will get some summer warmth today and Tuesday and then early next week as well.
The main days for rain will be Tuesday through Wednesday. On Tuesday the storms could be strong, with some heavy rain, same for Wed as the upper levels cool off, meaning a slight chance of some hail, but probably nothing like last week’s hail that hit just to our east. The rest of the week ought to be dry, but perhaps some drizzle Thursday. All in all a pretty good week for everyone.
Monday: Sunny. Warm. Feels like summer. High: 86. Low: 57.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny to start, clouds build and storms develop. Some heavy rain and strong winds possible with storms. Warm and more humid. High: 84. Low: 62. Some storms are also possible into the late evening.
Wednesday: Clouds and sunshine. Humid, but cooler. Storms and showers are likely again. Some could be heavy. High near 73. Low around 55.
Thursday – Friday: Cloudy to mostly cloudy with cool east wind. Some drizzle possible Thursday night. Highs in the upper 60s Thu, lows down to 55. Friday will be partly sunny, and a little warmer highs into the lower 70s, and lows around 48 as skies begin to really clear out.
Saturday – Monday: a warming trend begins with sunshine and some clouds. Highs will be start in the low 70s Sat, warm to mid 70s Sun and near 80 Mon.
This first week of June looks to be warm and humid, however, the main warmth will be to our southwest. New England will be much cooler, so we have to watch that backdoor/maritime front. One things that looks certain is for it to be a wetter week that this one. It’s starting off really nice for a good growing season.
