It is kind of neat to see that everyone is now focusing on the Tue snow maker. It’s a lesson I learned years ago … watch out for the little guy. Many were crying that there is no snow … only a frontal passage … boring … I said several days ago I thought it could be more than just a front and it had the potential to bring a moderate snow.
Lo and behold, some significant winter weather is on its way to visit us this week. First snow, then bitter cold. Let’s take then one at a time.
Note on the cold: I do not understand why some are trying to down play this. Boggles the mind. If the winds slack off enough Wed night, and with fresh snow cover on the ground, some areas will drop well below zero. I am not sure this will happen yet. But the surface high will be building in late Wed. So the potential is there for a well below zero morning Thu.
Other weather notes: There is still a chance for some snow showers/squalls as a disturbance moves through on Wed.
Another chance for some light to moderate snow could arrive for Fri afternoon/overnight. But there is a bit of uncertainty regarding this. I would expect there to be something, as there is often one last parting shot of cold high pressure before a cold wave lifts outs. But there is time to figure that one out.
Until then, enjoy. And stay warm.
