From my last post: "More of the same" was more prophetic than I imagined.

Last Thursday it poured and some flash flooding occurred, then yesterday it did the same. But it was worse. Being so wet, there was less room for the rain to soak in, so it ran off all over the place. I recorded 3.40" of rain in 45 minutes. That is a TON of water in such a short time. Impressive?  Yes. Needed? No.

Unfortunately, when in a wet pattern, you continue to get wet. And right now we are in a wet pattern and have been for the last 4 weeks (measured over 13" now in those 4 weeks).  SOGGY!

Today (Tue) will feature more thunderstorms/showers with very heavy rain. It will NOT be as widespread as yesterday. In fact the majority of people in East Central PA will stay dry, however, those that get rain could get a lot. Yes, flash flooding is a high threat once again, but hopefully we will stay dry.

Wednesday and Thursday should stay dry and turn hotter.  Temperatures should push toward 90 both day, before we start to nudge lower for Friday and the weekend.

A weak cold front will try to push through on Friday giving us some showers and thunderstorms. Saturday looks dry, and then another front tries to push through on Sunday giving us yet another shot of rain.

The big question for weather concerns is centered around Fri night to Sunday morning. With a major struggle occurring between the trough in east central Canada and the central US ridge, small impulses of energy can ripple through and cause clusters of thunderstorms to develop. This usually happens at night. There will likely be one or more Fri night and Sat night esp. to our west. Will they come east into our area?  Right now I'd say no. But there are times when then do come east and bring heavy rain. I think it is unlikely to happen, as the clusters of storms are likely to drop to our SW or stay tied to a low pressure area and stay across NY and New England.

A trough looks to develop in the eastern US early and mid week next week. This will bring some much drier air into our area for the second half of the week. BUT it could be very wet with rain chances Mon - Wed. In other words ... More of the same ...

Dailies:

Tuesday: Partly sunny. Humid. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Heavy rain possible.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Humid. Very warm.
Thursday: Mostly sunny. Hot and humid.
Friday: Partly to mostly sunny. Very warm and humid. Showers and thunderstorms likely.
Saturday: Partly to mostly sunny. A little cooler and a little less humid.
Sunday: Mostly sunny. Warm and more humid. Chance for showers and thunderstorms late.
Monday: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny. Warm and humid. Chance for showers and thunderstorms.
