The heat wave is ending as I type this. The cold front should pass through our area around midday. This is a little faster than I thought, but slower than the models had also. The part I missed was the lead, albeit very weak, disturbance that will act as a pre-frontal trough. It will have all the rather weak and disorganized showers with it.
Flash flooding is a non-threat for our area today. This is good. What is even better is the lower humidity that is coming by this afternoon and esp. this evening. Dewpoints will drop into the 50s by this evening which will feel very refreshing compared to what we’ve endured this week.
A beautiful weekend is then all set: sunshine with some clouds for Saturday, Sunday and even Monday. Temperatures will drop into the 50s Friday night, Saturday night and only rise into the upper 70s Sat and then the lower 80s for Sun and Monday. Beautiful!
A system will make its way east into our area on Tuesday as the heat tries to come back. It will become more humid and a little hotter. However, this system will stop the advance of the heat, and bring a chance for a shower or a thunderstorm. As the upper levels amplify, showers and storms will stay in the picture for Wed and possibly Thu. The potential is there for some heavy rain also.
Enjoy the refreshing weather …
