I guess we shall start with the good news. For the winter weary folks of the Northeastern and Northern Mid-Atlantic regions of the USA, there are signs of an easing off of winter, and then a warm up. Possibly the pattern will break around Mid-month.
Other sort of good news: We did have the coldest Feb in recorded history officially at Harrisburg and Williamsport. The old record was from 1934. But that month is gone! The bad news is that we have three rough days to get through. Here are the discussion points:
The forecast: Mon Night: Clear, chilly, low 12. Tue: Snow arriving midday, changing to sleet. 1-2" snow/sleet. Be careful driving. High 28 Tue Night: Sleet changing to a little bit of freezing rain, then becoming all light rain. Low 32 Wed: Cloudy. Milder. Few showers. Very gray day, but not bad. High 41. Wed Night: Rain arriving in the evening. Mixing w/ sleet before changing to wet snow overnight. low:29 Thu: Snow in the morning. Tapering off by midday. Preliminary accumulation at least 3". High: 32 Thu Night: Clearing. Much colder. Low: 10. Fri: Mostly sunny. Cold. High: 22. Fri night: Clear, calm and cold. Low near 0. Sat-Mon: Sun and clouds. Chilly but becoming more seasonal by Monday.
