Update on the Big Storm.
You might be asking, "What Big Storm?" Well, for us, its been more bark than bite so far. And it should stay that way. Although today we will miss some heavy snow by just a short distance. It will snow steadily later today as far south as northern Philly. Allentown may get 3-5". Hazelton may get 4-6". Us? C-2". Like I said, close. Forecast today:
Tuesday: Partly sunny. Chilly. 38 Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Chance for a snow shower. Chilly. 36. Review of Storm Forecast:
Over-all the modeling forecasts for our area for this storm have been bad. First this was an all rain storm. Then it was a significant sleet and ice storm with heavy precipitation. There was no snow on backside of storm even as late as Friday. Then Sunday extensive heavy snow appeared on almost all models (Even the superior EURO model forecast over 8" for our area!). Then this morning nothing. According to the short term models it should not be doing anything at 7:45 am. Guess the light snow out my window is non-existent. Like I said, models were bad for our area.Could they be very wrong about today and heavier snow develops this afternoon? Doubt it.
