The challenging forecast is working out nicely so far: Mon and Tue worked out almost perfect. I cleared and warmed up some on Monday, then Tuesday was very warm with strong to severe storms in the late afternoon/evening … as expected. I am rather pleased.
And even today’s forecast looks good, although I did lower temperatures a little bit as with the clouds and showers temperatures should hold in the 60’s. But this is a minor change though. Still showers with a possible thunderstorm.
The forecast looks good for Thursday, and Friday as well. A very wet period is in store for the next 72 hours. A soaking 1-3” of rain is likely for most with some local amounts to near 5” + are quite possible. The area most likely to get 5” of more of rain are south of the Blue Mountain Ridge line. Although, some flooding concerns for poor drainage areas, flood prone areas, and small streams will be increasing area wide on Friday into Saturday morning. The focus for the heaviest rain is Thursday afternoon into Saturday morning.
The good news is that Sunday looks like it could be a dry day! That is an improvement. Perhaps we can salvage ½ of the weekend for some outdoor activity, after taking time for the God and His people, of course.
Our lawns love it. The birds don’t mind it. The fish and ducks think it great. I guess we might as well enjoy it too.
