What else can you say about yesterday and today? Tomorrow will probably be a 9. So downhill we go … just kidding. Really nice weather into Saturday, although Fri and Sat will be cooler. Today and Thu will be the peak for this early season “heat wave”. Remember our average high temp is in the mid to upper 40s. So nearly 30 degrees above that is pretty impressive. Almost like December’s amazing warmth.
What can we expect going forward?
Well, you really cannot go anyway except downhill when you have this kind of weather in March. I mean it will be sunny Fri and into Saturday with highs in the 50s to 60. That is normally great. But it will feel relatively cool. Such is life in the wacky world of weather.
Speaking of next week (week of the 13 – 19) it will still be mild, but with highs mainly in the 50s. It will also feature more unsettled weather from late Sunday through Tue, and then more later in the week. At least that is how it appears at this time.
I do suspect that Holy Week (20 – 27) will be relatively cool. If we have a chance for seeing snowflakes again this season, it might be during Holy Week and into first week of April. There are indications that we could enter into a period of very chilly weather later this month. I do not expect it to last too long. The warmth outduels the cold overall. That has been the pattern since last fall, and not much has changed since then.
Of note is the collapsing El Nino. It is dying, and doing so increasingly rapid at this time. In fact by fall there are indications from really good sources that a very strong La Nina will develop. This could have major implications in this summer and esp. next = hot and dry. Just food for thought. I actually do expect a warmer and drier summer, but not with a drought like conditions. That could be next summer due to La Nina.
