We got a little snow. A coating on the ground here at my house, and the hills are white. Is this the final widespread snow for us? I think so. It is now the 10th of April, so it is about time to say goodbye to the snow. I do, however, believe that snow for the Poconos, Northern PA on north is not over yet. It will turn quite chilly again next week after this surge of warmth coming Fri and Sat. But for us here in SW Schuylkill county and south of here, we are done.
The good news is the warmth is still coming ... THe bad news is that Sunday is looking much colder now due to the possibility of a "back door" cold front coming from the NE through New England and NY state SW through our area. This could make for a dramatically colder Sunday and maybe even set up some ice problems for parts of far northern PA and into NY state, but not for us. This makes for tough forecast Sunday temperature-wise. It could be near 70 if the front stops before moving through our area, or if it moves well SW we could have highs in upper 30's! What's a 30 degree difference in a forecast? Might as well say "highs between 35-70" and I'll be right I do feel you cannot ignore the threat. It is likely to moves just through our area, but not too far. We will be much cooler, but not extreme. That is the position I am taking right now. The rest of the forecast is quite simple: Chilly today, milder Wed, warmer Thu, warm Fri, very warm Say, rain for Sunday, and heavy rain Sunday night into Monday. Enjoy.
