Unless you've been hiding in Southern California of some island in the Caribbean, you know its been cold. Well, we have some good news: a reprieve is coming.
This will NOT be a thaw like some a touting. It will be mild Thu and warm Fri but cold air returns for Sat -Sun -Mon. So, cold then a burst of mild/warm for two days than cold again. Not exactly what I would call a January Thaw. A real Thaw may come later in the month. But we shall see about that. Before it warms, we have some light snow, and maybe a touch of sleet/ice to get through for Monday. Also, watch out for some patchy ice on Wednesday. I doubt this frozen ground is going to warm up much, and the cold air is likely to get trapped at the surface (like its done many times) making for some slippery spots with spotty light precipitation. Then we warm up Thu - Fri with some rain. Then winter returns with cold air and perhaps snow Saturday? Time will tell. But the set-up is interesting. Enjoy.
