![]() Humid today with a good chance for some heavy thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. They could be severe, but the biggest threat is heavy rain and gusty winds. In other words fairly typical summer time thunderstorms. As you can tell by the picture above, (depicting predicted showers/storms at 6 pm this evening, not everyone will get wet. Some will, others will get nothing.) Some cooler air is coming for Wed and Thu, then another reinforcing front passes by on Fri (yea, things are moving faster) bringing us cooler air of Sat, and Sun. However, since things are moving faster, the air will not be as cool as I was thinking on Saturday. But there will also be a wave of low pressure riding along the boundary between the hot humid air and the more comfortable air over our area. This has happened twice already the last three weeks and both time produced some flash flooding in the mountains. First in some locations in Western PA and the last time major flooding in parts of WV. Will there be more flash flooding July 3rd – 4th? If there is the targets might be WV, VA and MD mountains. But that could change. Also, this area of rain right now, if the forecast models are perfect (doubt it) it would miss us by a tiny fraction. It would not take much to bring clouds and some showers on the holiday. Right now, I suspect it will be dry. Until then it will be seasonable for the end of June and beginning of July. Points for Next 7 Days:
