Faithful Forecast

A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

A Break from the Rain

Quite the cloudy, damp run of days. It was beneficial, since we were getting dry. Had about 2” in my rain gauge this week (Sun – Sat). All beneficial and soaked in for the most part. The plants were loving it.

We will now get a break from the wet rainy weather, however showers will return by midweek.

Pattern is one where cold air will reside to our north, and warmer air to our south. A frontal boundary will reside near us for much of the week. This will bring chances for showers from Tuesday afternoon through Saturday. It will not rain all the time, and some days may turn out 90% dry.

On the positive note, the temperatures for this week should average above 60 which is better than last week’s 50s.

Points for Next 7 Days:
  1. Sunshine:  Sun and Mon. Not 100% sunshine but a big improvement.
  2. Showers return: Tuesday afternoon/night, Wed, Thu, Fri and Sat.
  3. Best day of the Week: Looks like Mon. Friday might not be too bad either.
  4. Low Confidence: No strong weather systems, just a bunch of weak ones makes for a tough forecast in determining the timing and coverage of showers. This also makes temperature forecasts tough. So stay tuned …

Details:

Sunday: 64. Decreasing clouds. Chance very early shower. Nicer.

Monday: 67. Mostly sunny start, then increasing clouds. Pleasant.

Tuesday: 62. Mostly cloudy. Chance of a shower in the afternoon and overnight.

Wednesday: 66. Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers.

Thursday: 67. Mostly cloudy to partly sunny. Showers likely

Friday: 71. Partly sunny. Breezy. Showers likely late and overnight.

Saturday: 66. Mostly cloudy. Showers likely.

Sunday: 60. Mostly sunny. Breezy. Pleasantly cool.
