![]() 3" with 4-5" locally coming Wednesday. Note: Weekly forecast is below. The above image is for Wednesday. It is showing widespread 1/4" precipitation for us tomorrow, and it will be all snow. Not a big now, but the largest most widespread snow of the season. Based on this I would expect the snow to start late morning to noon and continue into the late evening. The heaviest at perhaps the worst time = mid afternoon to early evening. So watch out for that. Since this system is not weakening like the last clipper storm of 2 weeks ago that gave 2-3" snow, this one will strengthen and become more moist as it moves east. There will be some heavier bands that develop so at your house you could get a lollipop of 4-5". Most will see 3". But this may be just the appetizer as the main course may hit Sat. Major East Coast Snowstorm to Hit Sat. Heavy Snow for Us Becoming More Likely. For a good 5 days a storm was forecast to soak the Gulf Coast and then head east out to sea off the South Carolina coast. NOT SO FAST! All modeling now indicate that this large, wet system will make the turn up the coast. Right now the mao below indicates that we would get some moderate snow, with the heaviest to the east. However, I do think the storm will come closer to us. I cannot forecast amounts at this time (nor would I). But wanted to mention this becasue the app on your phone said sunshine this morning for Sat and then suddenly by evening it might show snow and cold. WHAT HAPPENED? Called computer generated forecasts. No human does the point and click or app forecast. And that forecast comes solely off of the GFS model which is the worst at East Coast Storms. So as it stands now all modeling shows a major storm, and I believe it will impact our area, possibly significantly. More details to come. FYI: The image below is the latest model forecast. The one below it is from last night. I think you will see a rather obnoxious difference :) Weekly Outlook:
