Winter-like snow flurries and snow showers Tue and Wed.
Winter-like like snow and/or rain Friday.
No winter-like snowstorms. Just had to make that clear.
Moving on ...
Our wet pattern continues. I’ve now measured just shy of 10” of moisture (rain and melted snow/ice) for the month. With some drizzle around yet, and snow showers possible the next couple of days, I think I will pass the 10-inch mark for the month in my rain gauge. And unfortunately the super soaking pattern we’ve been in since June will continue as we move into December. Two rainstorms look likely during the first 4 days of December.
Before then, however, we have some items to discuss.
- Snow showers Tue/Wed: although they usually do not amount to much, this set up is a little more favorable for giving us a coating to maybe 1-2” in some unfortunate or blessed soul’s backyard (depending on whether you like snow or not determines unfortunate or blessed). The best time will be from Tue 7 pm – Wed 7 pm. This is not a big deal. It may not even happen, but the set-up is decent for it to happen.
- Light snow/rain Fri: this is the weak system the models were laughing at so hard they lost it completely late last week. Well …. It is back on them all. I’ve felt from late last week some light snow (or rain) would come late in the week. Still believe it.
The weaker Friday’s system is the further NW the next storm will travel and the further north the warm air can travel. In this case 60 degrees would not be a surprise.
The stronger Friday’s system is the further SE the next storm will travel, and the warm air will not be able to come north into our area. In this case 45 degrees would be more likely.
Of course, more will be known over the next 36 hours.
Regardless of what it does, it will feel like winter: cold, breezy, with flurries and/or snow showers around.
