If you love cloudy, cool, damp weather with possible lots of rain … well this upcoming 7 days is just for you! I hinted that a change was coming from our beautiful weather, but this is a little more than I originally thought. But then again, not too many saw the stubborn clouds and damp weather for Wed, Fri, and today from last Monday either. So I guess I can be comforted with that. But I missed this. We live and learn.
Remember the nearly 2 weeks of sunshine that ended this week? Well, that occurred because of a blocking pattern that placed us under a ridge of high pressure giving us day after day of beautiful sunshine. Now, the blocking has shifted some and this coming week will place us under a trough of low pressure giving us lots of clouds and possibly lots of rain.
What do I mean? Rain late tonight into Sun, then rain late Sunday night into Mon, more rain likely Tue, then possibly some heavier rain Thu, with chances for showers Fri and at least Sat. The only really “dry” day I see right now is Wed.
It will also be chilly. In many ways this reminds me of the start to April. Cool and wet. Now as we head into May it will start cool and wet. Hmmm. Pattern? The weather does like to repeat itself. I do believe that the month of May will end warm, much like April did.
Anyhow, if you have gardens, grass seed to plant or you want to transplant a bunch of bushes, flowers, etc. now would be a great time. Cool and damp allows them to root themselves and not be stressed by hot, dry sunshine.
