Been away for a few days over the 4th and then came back and promptly led a funeral service. Now that I’m caught up it is time to update or actually issue a forecast. The forecast for the 4th holiday weekend did rather well.  And now we move on the second weekend in July … where is time going?

A strong midlevel system (for July) is moving through this morning. The rain will end, and the sun should break out giving us a nice summer-like day of warmth and humidity. Showers and thunderstorms are likely again late this afternoon and into the evening.

Saturday the cold front pushes through during the morning hours giving us a nice day that should stay dry. Cooler air moves in Saturday night and with high pressure in control, we should have a beautiful and refreshing Sunday.

It will begin to warm up Monday, but a new frontal system comes bringing showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday. Should be nice for Wednesday, then another system approaches for Thursday and Friday.

There are no signs of any extended heat establishing itself in our region of the nation. It is rather humorous to watch the computer models trying to build a heat ridge in the eastern US only to abandon it a day or two later, then try it again. It has been happening for about 2 weeks now. I just do not see how a heat ridge will become established in the east with the pattern as it is right now. When August rolls around, I could see where some changes could occur, but until then I just don’t see it.

Don’t get me wrong. We will likely get a brief burst of heat from time to time as we did in May and June with temperatures reaching 90 or higher. I just do not see an extended period of heat coming our way. What is more likely is to have numerous very humid and warm nights, rather than hot days.

Dailies:

Friday: Rain ending early. Some clearing. Showers and thunderstorms likely late afternoon and evening.
Saturday: Lowering humidity. Becoming mostly sunny. Breezy at times.
Sunday: Mostly sunny. Beautiful. Lower humidity. Breeze at times.
Monday: Mostly sunny. Pleasantly warm.  Increasing humidity.
Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Chance for showers and thunderstorms.  Humid.
Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny. Slight chance for a shower. Becoming less humid.
Thursday: Partly to mostly sunny. Chance for a shower or a storm.

Enjoy!

Although forceasting the weather is an imperfect science, it is a pleasure to follow what the Creator has made.
