Discussion:
The sun made for a very nice day, although a tad on the cool side but it is the very end of November after all. I guess it should be cool. Another couple cool, but pleasant days are ahead, before a cloudier weekend with milder temps. One thing to note is that Friday night as the warm front tries to move north, a disturbance will kick off some snow throughout NY and into central/southern New England. It will not be too far away from us, but should stay to our north. Saturday, will be a classic cold air damming scenario. This occurs when cold dense air is dammed up against the mountains to our west. We stay cold as warm air rises over our cold air. For example Pittsburgh could easily soar into the 50s Saturday while we stay cool and gray in the low 40s. Sunday will be a little better, but these scenarios are not in a hurry to leave, so I hesitate to make it too warm. A warm up will occur on Mon –Tue with a front crashing through on Wed bringing some good rain with it. Look for an up and down pattern for our temperatures next week, but becoming wetter and stormier and colder as we head into December. (note: the milder burst for Mon-Tue is stronger than I expected, so the cold will not hold like a thought. But in the big picture, it will likely seem like a puddle of warmth in a sea of coolness). Here is my forecast: Tonight: mostly clear moonlit skies … very cold lows near 21 Thursday: mostly sunny … still cold … highs around 43 Thursday night: mostly clear … somewhat milder … lows near 27 Friday: sun to start with clouds increasing … high near 46 Friday night: cloudy, milder … a flurry is possible … low near 30 Saturday: cloudy … cool breeze from the SE … highs near 43 Sunday: clouds and partial sun early … clouds thicken up late … milder … high near 49 Monday: Clouds and sun … mild … high near 54
