Happy Saturday Evening!
My update helped me, especially for Saturday otherwise the forecast was not too bad. A little cool for Monday, a little heavy on the rain (more like shower, some heavy) on Thu and too cool Sat. Grade: A- (due to an A+ for Thu. Yes I was too heavy on the rain aspect, but not because the system didn’t materialize. It was modeled to be off the coast to our SE, well it went so far NW that we got into the warm sector and got into a strong frontal rain band. I wasn’t far enough to the NW. But I got the idea way ahead of the models. So I like what I said. So an A+ for Thu!)
Overview for Coming Week:
Fall is here and winter will be rearing its ugly head for a little preview of things to come. A cold week is ahead, but Mon and Tue will not be too shabby. Seasonally cool, but very nice. A sharp trough builds into the eastern half of the nation and brings some very cold air with it. Snow showers with some accumulation will occur around the Great Lakes, esp. in Michigan. Some showers are possible Tue.
Wed is the tough forecasting day. An impulse will be moving out of the northern plains, and into the Mid Mississippi River valley. Where does it go? Looking at this past week: Thu trough sharper and system stronger and further NW, Sat’s weak system also sharper and further NW than in models, so I think it will continue. Plus it’s the models normal error. Correct NW. So that could lead to a rainy day Wed, with temps in the 40s! And then the coldest air since last winter comes barreling in. Do not be surprised to see some white snowflakes flying around Thu and or Fri too. It will begin to moderate into the weekend and into the following week.
The first freeze of Autumn will come this week, with temps down into the 20s likely Saturday morning.
Monday: Mostly sunny, seasonal. Daytime highs near 66. Nighttime lows near 43.
Tuesday: Becoming cloudy, breezy. Light showers late. Daytime highs near 63. Mostly cloudy at night. Nighttime lows near 46.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Light rain. Raw and chilly. Daytime highs near 50. Some late night clearing, with winds increasing. Nighttime lows near 42.
Thursday: Partly sunny, breezy and cold. Possible flurry? Daytime highs near 48. Nighttime Freeze is likely with nighttime lows near 30.
Friday: Partly cloudy, breezy with a passing sprinkle/flurry in the morning. Daytime highs near 51. Nighttime lows near 28.
Saturday: Sunny to start, milder with increasing winds. Daytime highs near 58. Showers late and into the evening. Nighttime lows near 39.
Sunday: Partly sunny, cool breeze. Daytime highs near 54. Clearing at night. Nighttime lows near 34.
Hint thru November 3: Colder for Monday, but then as cold air heads further west we will moderate through mid week. Temps should rebound again into the 60s before a rainy system ushers in much colder air again for the later part of the week. The airmass behind this front will not be like what we will see this week.
