That will be the story describing the weather today and the weather early next week. The biggest change will be the temperatures as the pattern evolves from a ridge east, trough west to trough east, ridge west by the first weekend in January.
One last huge push of record warmth will hit today, Thu and possibly Sun. After that dramatic cool down starting Monday. I say dramatic, because rain and temps in the 30s will feel really cold compared to 60s. I still don’t see too much of a chance for snow until the New Year. Until then, marvel at the amazing fluctuations found in the world of weather. This month of Dec is like an extended Nov. Fall never quit. Temps approaching or exceeding 70 the day before Christmas from DC to Boston. Amazing. But this is not the only time we have seen temps like this in Dec. We did it over 10 days ago for a few days. And areas around Baltimore, DC will do so again Christmas Day, Sat and Sun also. Possibly even next Tue before cold front blasts through. Amazing. It saddens me when meteorologists and weather hobbyists fight over social media. The fight is over this pattern change. Some see the el nino dominating and think the cold will not come, and others are saying the cold is coming, due to other factors including a weakening el nino. What is sad is the disrespect from one side to the other. Besides, both are seeing what they want to see. If you think cold is coming, then you show the support for it. If you don’t, then you show support for continued warmth. But why can’t people get along? Why not talk without the ignorant personal insults? Of course, our nation’s leaders cannot do that either … This is why I follow Christ and His example of living. My Weather Points for the Next 7 Days:
