Our one rain chance over the next week will come as the high to the north, and a weak low to the south create easterly winds that pick up large amounts of moisture carrying it onshore in the Mid-Atlantic region. This may shift north into our area Sun night – Monday. It will be much lighter by the time it gets here, if it even makes it this far north. That high will be stubborn, so time will tell.
If you are going to the beach this weekend … better go toward Boston or Maine. If you are heading from NYC south to Delaware, expect gusty onshore winds, clouds, some light rain, and cool temperatures. Areas from MD through North Carolina will have periods of heavy rain, strong winds, and very cool temps. Not great beach weather. Although the waves will be great!
Here are the weather points:
1. Rain: In the next 7 days the best chance is Sun – Mon. Will that ocean storm stay close and bring moisture north on a strong on-shore flow? BIG QUESTION mark.
2. Clouds and Winds: NE winds will increase esp. over the weekend, making it feel quite cool at times. Also the weekend will likely be mostly cloudy to partly sunny.
3. Temps: Seasonal weather and temperatures is expected throughout. The coolest days will be Sat and Sun with temps in the 60s. A warm up will begin Mon and last through Wed of next week.
4. Tropics: Nothing seems willing to really develop along the east coast, so now the attention will turn to the Gulf of Mexico. It will become the most favorable spot once into next week. But impacts for us up here in PA? Minimum at this time.
