Sunshine will appear today and Thu and Fri and Sat! Enjoy it! We have earned it. Nothing real cold, just seasonal with temps in the upper 30s to near 40 and lows in the upper 20s at the worst.
Now onto the hype. If you noticed I did not talk a whole lot about this coming weekends "storm" but some meteorologists jumped the gun and lit the social media hype wagon on fire about a big east coast storm for this weekend. I have never felt this would be a big one, nor a non-event either. Right now more and more are say "nothing". I don't believe that either.
A weak area of low pressure will move northeast out of NW Gulf of Mexico bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to the south and south east. As the storm stays weak it heads for Cape Hatteras, NC area. The moisture will spread into our area Sat night into Sunday. Light snow with a burst of moderate snow is possible with this. NOT A BIG DEAL. IT'll just be festive.
WHITE CHRISTMAS? I say no. Unless, we get snow showers on Christmas Day itself, but expect a bit system to bring rain and milder air from the south for Christmas Eve day. Much colder Christmas and the week after.
Enjoy the sun as it rejoins our lives after a long vacation ... :)
