As this front moves through some showers and storms can be expected. An area showers/storms moving SE from the Great Lakes, crossing NY State looks like it will stay north of us, however, these types of storm set ups often build further south than what is forecast. So a further south extension would put us into the area of showers and storms early Sat morning.
It should then become mostly sunny. Temps will surge to at least the middle 80s. Additional shower or thunderstorm could pop up in the afternoon and evening as depicted in the image above.
Any thunderstorm could have strong gusty winds, and heavy rain.
The next chance for rain will be Mon night into Tue morning.
Points for Next 7 Days:
- More Sun than Clouds: The next week will feature a lot of sunshine and it will be comfortable warm nearly every day. No heat waves, but Sat will be the hottest.
- NW Thunderstorms: Thunderstorm chances Sat morning, afternoon/evening, and then again Mon overnight into Tue morning. These storms will come from the NW fueled by heat in the central plains.
- Canadian Maritime Protector: The Sat system will deepen and become very strong. It will provide cooler air Sun and Mon, and then act to protect us from the heat wave to our west. This storm will not move much during the week.
