An active period of weather will be impacting us over the next 7 days and likely beyond. In the coming 7 days we will have 3 systems to keep our eyes on for impactful weather. None are necessarily huge storms, but they can impact travel in some form.
First system arrives New Years Day afternoon giving us a mix of sleet/freezing rain and cold rain. The ice will be more prevalent on cold surfaces (limbs, wires, cars/trucks) esp. on the ridges. Second system comes on Sunday. This will bring rain mixing with or changing to snow in the afternoon. Again, the ridges will be most likely to see accumulating snow. Any snow will be of the wet and packable kind. The Third system would came around midweek next week. This system appears like it could be colder thus leading to more snow possibilities. This storm also has the potential to be the largest of the three, but we shall see as we get closer. In between: Mild Saturday relatively speaking, then seasonal for the most part. Details: New Year's Day: Cloudy. Light sleet/freezing rain/rain starting after noon. 36. Saturday: Partly sunny. Breezy. Mild but turning cooler. 45. Sunday: Cloudy. Rain mixing with or changing to snow esp. higher elevations. 36. Monday: Clearing. Breezy. 36. Tuesday: Partly sunny. Chance for snow showers. 35. Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny. 38. Thursday: Cloudy. Chance snow and/or rain. 35. Enjoy
