Faithful Forecast

A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

Opposite of Last Week

5/21/2018

This will be good news for most everybody. What last week was not, this week will be.

It rained a lot last week. A very wet week. This week the sun will shine a lot (today and Wed into Sat) and it will rain a little (Tue).  It will be much warmer too with highs near 80 by Thu and Fri and possibly into the middle 80’s Sat, depending on when clouds arrive.

So, all in all, a nice week is shaping up. Some details:

Tuesday is looking like the worst day of the week, weather wise. It will be rather wet as showers and thunderstorms are likely in the morning and afternoon into the evening, with a break in between.

Wednesday still offers a slight chance for a shower early, but like yesterday (Sunday) if should be 95% rain free, if not 100%.

Thursday and Friday look spectacular. Enjoy them. Pleasantly warm, with low humidity.

Saturday should be good also: warm, more humid, but also increasing clouds with a chance of a shower late/overnight.

The rest of the Memorial Day Weekend is looking a bit unsettled. A stalling/slow moving front will approach the area and a surge of moisture from the deep south will move north toward our area. The combined impact of both may lead to a wet Sunday and Memorial Day itself. I believe there is the potential for a 12-hour period that could feature some heavy rain somewhere from Sunday – Monday. The rest of the time will feature some partial clearing/ sunshine, with scattered showers/thunderstorms.

It should not be a total washout, but do expect it to be wet at times. Because this is still 6-7 days away, I would not change any plans, but be ready for adjusting plans if needed.
