There has been a bit of talk about some ROASTING heat coming our way. At first it was to be Tue – Fri of this week. Well … that disappeared. It will be warm. Like summer. Typical 80’s and nights in the 60’s to 70 in your warmer spots. Humid too. Yup. Like summer.
Now my hot dogs roast over a nice campfire. But for people to roast in a widespread fashion from a heatwave in the NE ... not yet. At least I don't think so. Lets get back to the heat and when it is now supposed to turn roasting hot. Now the roasting heat is coming next weekend: Fri – Sun. Not sure if I totally agree. I rejected the first heatwave notion, and I may reject this other one too. But this one is plausible. I am not sold on it yet. I do believe once the tropical remains of Barry move through our area by Fri morning, a warm surge of air will come east. If a west wind develops at the surface, and the air mixes it out (becomes less humid during the day by bringing dry air from the upper levels of the atmosphere allow air to heat more. Dry air gets hotter than humid air so drying out is important for getting higher temperatures), we would have some really hot temperatures in the middle and upper 90’s for Fri – Sun. Maybe. I don’t think the air will mix like some are thinking = less hot. I do think the air will stay very humid due to the rains that are coming on Thu = less hot. It will still be summer “hot” just not roasting hot … IMHO. Until then, a nice stretch of weather will continue through Tue. Lots of sunshine. Dry air to start, then more humid on Tue. Chance for a shower or storm on Wed before the deep tropical moisture comes in for a very humid Thu with some heavy showers and storms around. Enjoy.
