First, it is hot.
Second, it is humid.
Third, it is not the end of the world.
Widespread low 90's throughout the region this afternoon. A gentle west breeze and come clouds makes a hot afternoon a little more bearable. Again, be smart. Drink lots of water. And you will be fine. There could be a shower or storm later today/this evening, but I doubt they will make it into our area.
Some updates (minor) to the forecast.
Sat: Less breeze, so dew points should stay up. Too bad. But lower high temperature due to more puffy clouds and even a late day thunderstorm. (A couple of days ago, Philadelphia and DC were supposed to hit 100 today ... not gonna make it, 95 maybe, and NYC was supposed to be in the middle 90's, may not even reach 90! Oops)
Sun: Probably the hottest day. Lots of sun early, then chance for late day showers and thunderstorms. More likely some overnight, than during the day. With a SW air flow, and a mostly sunny day, it will be hot. It will be humid. Likely the worst of the heat.
Mon: Cold front comes through. Potential for heavy rain, severe storms, flash flooding as front is slow moving.
Tue: Gorgeous: 70's with sunshine.
Wed: Repeat of Tue
Thu: Repeat of Wed, but temps either side of 80.
We get our heat wave through Sun. Then it ends with a bang, and hopefully not a flood. Hope you enjoy it. Summer's gift to lovers of heat.
Until next time.
