A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

October 18th, 2012

Thursday Evening:

A warm and windy evening and overnight ahead for us tonight as slow moving cold front comes our way with a good amount of moisture with it. The cold front won’t cool us off tomorrow, and only to seasonal levels on Sat and Sun, setting the stage for a beautiful week of nice warm weather. Enjoy it as winter will be seen out west.

Here is the local forecast:

Tonight: windy, mild with rain arriving. Some thunderstorms are possible. Expect some heavy rain giving us a solid 1” with up to 2” in spots. Mild with lows in the mid 50s.

Friday: Showers ending. Mild, not as windy, highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Becoming partly sunny, with some showers possible.

Friday night: Varying amount of clouds, a little cooler as colder air filters in, but takes its time establishing itself, so lows by morning ending within a degree or two of 50.

Extended:

1.       Saturday should be seasonal for mid Oct and the Holiday Parade in town. A shower or two is possible, but they would be very light; more like sprinkles.

2.       Sunday should be a lot like Tuesday of this week. Sunshine and clouds in the morning, but then clearing in the afternoon, making for a clear and cool night.

3.       A great stretch of weather will begin on Monday and ought to last through most of the week. Expect temps to be in the 70s starting Tuesday and may make a run towards 80 Wed or Thu as it looks like that front from Canada will stay to our north. But enjoy it ... for it

4.       Winter is going to be making itself felt out west. Expect this cold to come east during the last week of the month.
