A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

October 18th, 2012

Wednesday Evening:

A pretty nice afternoon out there today with sunshine and some thin clouds dimming the sun at times, but still really nice. Tomorrow should also be very nice before some heavy rain comes our way, and leads to a more unsettled weekend. Here is the local forecast:

Wednesday Night: a few clouds around lows into the mid 40s for most, with colder spots.

Thursday: Warm sunshine to start, increasing breeze from the South with clouds thickening in the mid afternoon. Rain should hold off until after dark. Temperatures reaching the mid 60s, but higher if clouds take longer to increase.

Thursday night: Rain will be heavy at times, maybe a rumble of thunder.  Expect a good 1” of rain with locally up to 2” during the night. The rain should end by early Friday morning. Mild temperatures as the warm southerly flow continues, lows holding in the mid to upper 50s.

Extended:

1.       Friday should be a decent day. The sun should break out behind the clouds and as we get into the dry slot our temps should rise into the upper 60s to near 70. An additional shower or two could easily develop late in the day, however.

2.       Seasonal chill and perhaps some showers for Saturday, before clearing out for Sunday.

3.       Sunday should be a lot like Tuesday of this week.

4.       Could temps run for 80 next week? Don’t laugh, it is still quite possible. That front in Canada may come through late Tuesday. If it does, we will cool off and possibly warm up a couple days later. If it stays to our north … it will warm well into the 70s for Wed. More on this in the next couple days as the picture becomes clearer.
