So far the expected fall pattern of a ridge dominating the east is working our really well. Of course the occasional intrusions of a trough come in, but the ridge rebounds rapidly. Leaving us with lots of sunshine. We will have to see how things progress over the next month, but I expect September to remain quite dry, October closer to average and November to become wet. There are subtle signs that this may work out quite nicely.
The only real intrigue is the potential for a more widespread rain on this upcoming Sunday as some tropical moisture may be pulled north ahead and along a cold front pressing SE across the eastern US. It is something to watch. Other than that … pretty nice. Enjoy the cooler mornings, esp. at the of the week. And for you heat lovers: Wed will be more to your liking.
Points for Next 7 Days:
- Beautiful: Today. Deep blue skies. Sunshine. Low humidity. Perfect for mid-September.
- Warm Up: Once again, as has happened often this summer, temps rebound back into the mid and upper 80s for Tue and Wed, respectively.
- More Fall-like: Thu and Fri. High temperatures only in the low and mid 70’s with lows Fri and Sat morning below 50!
- Best Chance for Rain: Sunday as a cold front moves in from the west. There is a chance that some tropical moisture may be pulled north into our area this weekend, from a non-developing tropical wave/disturbance that will be near Florida this week.
