Faithful Forecast

A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

Midweek Update - Fri Evening

7/17/2015

Some minor adjustments are needed for Sat - Mon forecast.
Saturday: 87. Partly sunny. Much more humid. Shower/storm possible very early in the morning, and from mid-afternoon on.

Sunday: 94. Hot. Hot. Hot. Slight chance of a shower/storm.
Sunday Night: 72. Very warm. Showers/storms possible after midnight esp. to our north.
Monday: 85. Clearing. Very warm. Shower/storm still possible.

Summer is all its glory will be warming us nicely the next couple of weeks.  What I mean is that a cold front passed through today and cool weather that is coming will drop temps to around 80 for one day then back up after that.  This time of year, cold fronts are generally at their weakest. This is the warmest time of the year. So enjoy it.

Our over-all pattern is similar. Not scorching hot, but very warm with surges of high humidity and potential for heavy rains esp. next Mon. Some scattered stuff over the weekend. The heat stays, and lasts through most of not all of next week. It will be a great week for swimming.

Questions for Forecast:

1.      As warm air returns will some “ring of fire” storms move through Fri overnight and/or Sat overnight?

2.      How hot will it get Sat-Sun-Mon?  Could it be our first string of 90 degree days and give a technical heat wave?

3.      Will it cool off any the first part of next week, or will it just stay hot, but lower humidity Tue-Wed?

4.      How much rain will fall Monday afternoon-night?  Will storms be similar to what we just got or will they be more severe and faster moving?

Specifics:

Thursday: 79. Mostly sunny. Very pleasant.

Friday: 85. Sunny. Warm. Becoming more humid. Overnight shower/storm possible.

Saturday: 90. Mostly sunny. Hot. Humid. Scattered showers/storms possible.

Sunday: 90. Partly sunny. Hot. Humid. Scattered showers/storms possible.

Monday: 90. At least partly sunny. Hot. Humid. Showers/storms likely late and overnight.

Tuesday: 87. Showers and storms ending early. Becoming less humid. Still very warm.

Wednesday: 89. Mostly sunny. Hot. Humidity increasing late.
