Midweek Forecast Update
Winter’s Wrath a Comin’
The worst of winter is knocking on our door and it will come barging in starting Thu and last through much if not all of next week. Three weather systems will impact us over the next 7 days.
1) Thursday: Strong system, but moving very fast and very parched for moisture. Expect falling temps in the afternoon, with some scattered heavier bursts of snow. A coating to 2” at most. Temps near zero by Fri morning with a gusty wind.
2) Saturday: Very strong arctic system will dive SE across our area. It will snow. Amounts are in question. The strength and track of the upper level low will determine accumulations. Someone will get a lot. We do know the winds will become strong and gusty. Temps will drop to near zero Sun morning. Wind chills will be very low. Below zero Mon and possibly Tue morning.
3) Tuesday-Wednesday: System coming up out of the south. Snow is likely, but beware of some mixing (what else is new?). More cold air to follow after temps “warm” to near 30!
Weather in a nut shell? Very cold with and increasing snowfall potential with each weather system.
Thursday 30 0 Cloudy. Snow showers and a few squalls are likely. Windy
and much colder. Temps falling through the day.
Friday 12 5 Bitter cold. Sun and clouds. Breezy. Temps dip to zero
early then start to rise toward morning
Saturday 22 0 Thickening clouds. Snow arriving by Mid-afternoon.
Winds really increase. Blowing and drifting. Dangerous wind chills possible.
Sunday 7 -6 Clearing skies. Very windy to start. Bitter cold. Blowing
Monday 15 -2 Still bitter cold. Sunshine and less wind.
Tuesday 30 26 Snow arriving. Could be heavy at times. Sleet and
freezing rain possible.
Wednesday 34 10 Any precipitation ending early. Clearing. Colder
again late. Windy.
