Confession: Major weather events like thunderstorms, heavy rain, heavy snow, blizzards, hurricanes, etc. bring an increased level of excitement that only those who love the weather can enjoy. I must confess, however, that I am not enjoying this rain anymore. Over 40” in my rain gauge since the beginning of June. That is ridiculous. It is simply too much.
Ok, on to the forecast: Monday: Heavy showers and thunderstorms widespread this morning, then becoming more scattered in the afternoon and not much happening overnight. Flash flood threat very high. Tuesday: Scattered showers and a possible thunderstorm. Humid. Flash flood threat much lower. Wednesday: Dry. Humid. Sunshine. Thursday: Dry. Humid. Sunshine. Shower possible overnight. Friday: Sun and clouds. Chance for a shower or storm. Saturday: Dry. Sun and clouds. Unfortunately, the pattern of a trough trying to establish itself in the east, and a ridge off the coast will remain as the general idea for the rest of the month of August. This means an overall wet pattern will continue. The good news is that I do not see any excessive rain events, like this one, coming up. Maybe we can the ground drain some the next couple of weeks. Let’s hope so.
