It is Hot!
Just as advertised. A classic old-fashioned Heat Wave. Nothing historic or unprecedented by it. Just hot weather. Ignore the hype and take care of yourself. We will survive.
And now it has peaked and will be ending over the next few days. Unfortunately, 4th of July picnics, BBQ’s, parties, fireworks may be rained upon as showers and storms are a pretty good bet. Not everyone will be rained on, and it won’t rain all the time. But when it does rain is could rain very heavily as the showers and storms will be slow moving.
Thursday looksbetter, although still a chance for a shower or a storm. Most of the rain will be west of our area.
Friday looks wet with widespread showers and storms. I am going warmer than the models right now as they may be falling for their weakness of collapsing their cold front into the pre-frontal trough east of the mountains. This rushes the cold front through too fast by several hours. I would slow it down about 4 hours … making for an afternoon passage, not a midday passage. This also allows for more sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Saturday will be shock to our system as the heat and humidity is gone. How about highs in the upper 70s? Dewpoints in the 50’s? Refreshing!
Sunday and Monday will also be very nice with warm sunshine and low humidity.
Our heat ends this week, as the focus of the heat shifts west. Now that heat will try and build east again next week but it will be cut off by fronts dropping SE. An even larger surge of cooler air looks to come into the east last next week.
