Pray all is well as you enter this new year. One thing is certain, the weather won't be much of an issue the next 6 days. Then maybe winter will start showing up in a more classic fashion ... cold and snow. We will see.
Until then, we have a weak system coming through tonight. It will produce a rain/sleet or snow shower. Nothing to write home about. Some sun on Thu and early Fri before that southern system meanders on up our way for Saturday. It will give us a raw wet day Sat with light rain and temperatures in the 30's all day. Yuck. The track of the storm is great for a winter storm, but with no cold air around, you get a cold rain. It should be decent on Sunday and Monday. Some sun and clouds. Probably more clouds than we want. But at least partly sunny. Then maybe something more intriguing for Tue/Wed of next week. The pattern is slowly changing. Cold air is building back into Canada. And blocking is showing signs of developing too. This should lead to a colder pattern and a snowier pattern (wouldn't take much after no snow in Dec!). By mid-month we should be entering into a more typical winter pattern. I am still skeptical of a long lasting bitter cold stretch for winter, but I am more confident of a colder, snowier pattern to develop. But for the next 6 days, it's mild over-all. Mostly due to mild/warm nights with some rain tossed in. Until then, enjoy.
