Faithful Forecast

A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

Friday Evening Weekend Outlook

Discussion:

Thanksgiving was about as good as it gets!  Sunshine and mild temperatures … another reason to be thankful for the blessings God bring to us, yes even in the weather department. Where do we go from here?

The front is passing through and it will grow much colder. This weekend will be cold. Temperatures during the day should reach the upper 30s and maybe 40 if there is enough sunshine. Expect some flurries and light snow showers to make an appearance. It will be windy as well.

Tuesday –Wednesday next week look very interesting. The blocking in the atmosphere (think of football and what blockers do) is causing the storm that I thought would bring a cold nasty rain to us to be weaker and further south.  This will likely result on in our first snowfall of the season. Details need to be worked out … in fact it is more likely for it to be pushed further south and we get nothing than for us to get rain at this time.

Beyond this … more cold air but a moderating trend by the end of next week. However, no major stretches of mild, sunny weather are seen for quite some time.

Here is my forecast:

Tonight: mostly cloudy … a few sprinkles … lows near 35

Saturday: sun and clouds … cold … flurries and a light snow shower esp. in the afternoon … gusty NW wind … highs near 37

Saturday night: gusty winds subsiding some … partly cloudy … flurries/snow shower early … cold lows upper 20s

Sunday: increasing clouds … partly sunny … cold … lighter winds … highs near 40

Monday: mostly sunny … milder … highs in the mid 40s

Tue-Wed: expect some snow … cold with highs in the 30s and lows in the mid 20s.

Until Sunday evening …
