![]() I probably cannot emphasize this enough: Flash flooding, and stream flooding threat will be high to very high through this Wednesday. If you live in a flood prone area be alert. Not trying to scare people, but this pattern is similar to past patterns that has resulted in flash flooding and other widespread flooding events. Thankfully the pattern will break down Wednesday night and bring some dry weather in for Thu - Sat. (It could shower or storm on Fri but its looking drier as we get closer). The flow for today through Wed will be from the deep south. Tropical moisture will flow into our area, and showers and storms will move S-N and could train one after another. With this mornings heavy rain, the small streams will rise very high, the ground be saturated, so any additional rain that falls will simply run off quickly. We are simply getting too much rain. The NWS forecast for the next 3 days (Mon - Wed) is for us to get up to 6 inches of additional rain (see map. Orange is over 5" and light purple is over 6"). If this happens it will lead to problems. Nothing is certain, but the threat is high. Please stay tuned to any and all NWS advisories and/or warnings through your local media. After Wednesday we begin to dry out through Saturday. Enjoy and stay safe.
