When you are wrong you have to say "I was wrong!"
Boy did I mess up the snow totals for Tuesday morning and the ice for Wed.
For the snow we got jumped. Lots of snow to our west (Altoona and State College got it, but it died coming east and then New England got it.) Then the ice for Wed was a pretty bad miss. Didn't think the moisture was going to be all that impressive ... I knew my mistake Tues afternoon ... but I was unable to update. Gotta learn from the mistakes.
Where are we today? Another wrong forecast? Yes, and no. Things are moving more slowly than expected. The cold air is stuck east of the mountains, as we are in the 30s. It is yucky, and damp. The rain from the front (some could be heavy) will come through Midday into the early afternoon. As it does, the wind will increase from the west and temps will jump into the mid and upper 40s. But do to the late frontal crossing, it will not be as warm as I expected today, but it is unfolding like I envisioned, just a few hours later.
Saturday: Gorgeous! Sunshine, some clouds, a possible shower, but unlikely. High: 52. Low: 28.
Sunday: Increasing clouds. Cooler. Some patchy very wet snow after dark. High: 41. Low: 27.
Full forecast coming tomorrow morning. Watch for very cold weather as the week unfolds and snow chances for Wed and Friday of next week. Winter is not done with us yet. And sadly, March is not looking too hot at this time either ...
