But what about liquid sunshine? We do need some.
Well, rain chances are limited, but it’s not all bad. A few areas will get some rain today into Friday and then again Saturday night. Any thunderstorm could be quite heavy; another theme of the summer continues. When it rains it dumps a lot.
I am more hopeful for a better chance of rain Sat night now. Part of that reason will be the remnants of Hurricane Newton off the SE Pacific that is impacting Arizona and New Mexico today and tonight. This moisture will flow E-NE and may help increase our rain chances Sat night.
Other than that, it’s a dying front Thu, stronger front Sat bringing cooler air, but a warm up begins quickly as ridge rebounds almost immediately behind Sat’s front.
Points for Next 7 Days:
- Chance of Thunderstorms: Very limited coverage for late Wed, Thu and into Fri. Any storm that does form will likely produce very heavy rain.
- Heat is on: Wed – Sat. Temps approaching or exceeding 90 each day.
- Cold Front: Front moves through late Sat night bringing chance for showers and thunderstorms as well as cooler temps for Sun and Mon.
- Warm Up: Once again, as has happened often this summer, temps rebound back into the mid and upper 80s for Tue and Wed, respectively.
