![]() Discussion: The weather world is all a buzz this morning talking about the BIG STORM for Sunday. The one I mentioned early this week that would likely bring 2”+ of rain to our area. Well, well, well … a widespread 2-3” of rain is likely with some receiving 4” or rain. (see map to left). Flooding should not be an issue, since we have not been all that wet over-all. The heavy rain will likely lead to poor drainage flooding, especially when drains get clogged by leaves, and some small streams may flood temporarily during heavy downpours. If for some reason we receive a widespread 4” or more, then flooding would become an issue. But I do not see that happening. Besides the rain will fall over a 18-24 hour period, making runoff more spread out over a longer period of time. There are two aspects of this storm that will make it interesting besides rain:
In summary, if you have outdoor plans do it Saturday. It will be beautiful Saturday, esp. when compared to Sunday! Dailies: Friday: Mostly sunny. A little milder. Saturday: Milder with increasing clouds. Sunday: Heavy soaking rain. Windy. Turning colder. Monday: Clearing after morning rain, mixed with wet snow flakes. Windy. Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Less wind. Chilly. Wednesday: Sunny. Pleasant. Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Milder. Chance for showers. Enjoy!
