Faithful Forecast

A Forecast for Southern Schuylkill and Northern Lebanon County

active week

1/22/2022

We are facing an active winter weather week this upcoming week. First, it will be cold all week. We might break 30 on Tue, that is about it for "mild" days. Second, we have 3 shots of light some coming our way.
  1. "Alberta Clipper" storm (small compact but fast moving systems in winter) coming Sunday afternoon into the evening. Light snow mainly between 3 pm and 9 pm. Could produce a couple of inches.
  2. Alberta Clipper storm comes on Monday night and brings  another round of light snow. This storm looks to track further north, so the best snowfall will be to our north. Another couple inches could accumulate.
  3. Disturbance in the atmosphere during the afternoon and evening on Tue looks to try and draw moisture north from a system along the Gulf Coast. this could produce yet another light accumulation. This is more uncertain. It could be less than an inch or several inches depending on timing.
  4. Then all eyes turn toward the weekend. Do we get a major coastal storm or not?  Right now we don't know. The potential is there. In fact, I would go so far as to say a storm will form, but is it off shore or right along the coast?  The track I do not know.
This could be a very snowy week ... or not. uncertainty abounds with questions for Tue and next weekend. What we do know is that it will be cold.

Sunday:  Cloudy. Light snow develops after 2 pm and ends by 9 pm. 1-3" possible. 28.
Monday: Mostly cloudy. Light snow develops after dark. 1-2" possible. 26.
Tuesday: Cloudy. Chance for light snow in the afternoon/evening. 30.
Wednesday: Partly sunny.  24,
Thursday: Partly to mostly sunny. 22.
Friday: Increasing clouds. Chance for snow late. 25.
Saturday: Cloudy. Chance for snow. 28.

Enjoy.

Although forceasting the weather is an imperfect science, it is a pleasure to follow what the Creator has made.
