A Cooler Change

Starting this morning the Dog Days of August will have gone missing.

What can be a very warm and humid time of year, is going to turn into a very comfortable time of the year for the next week. Perhaps longer.

A strong cold front moved through last night and it gave quite the light show as it did. Had a few hits of lightning that were extremely close, and then the thunder shook the house. Certainly had some heavy rain. Behind this front we find the much cooler air of this morning. High temperatures will average in the mid and upper 70 for next several days and lows will average in the upper 50's for most of those nights. Low humidity today, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

It looks very wet for Monday as a weak area of low pressure moves just to the south of us. A soaking rain looks quite probable.  Then some nice dry days Tuesday and Wednesday, even into Thursday before a stalled out boundary to our south tries to move back north bringing an increase in clouds and the chances for showers and a thunderstorm or two.

Our cool weather should last into the middle of August, but things are changing in the atmosphere. I believe the second half of August will be consistently warm and humid, and the cool air will stay primarily to our west.  This could lead to a mild, but wet fall.

Dailies:

Saturday: Becoming mostly sunny. Cooler. Breezy.
Sunday: Mostly sunny. Beautiful. Breezy.
Monday: Mostly cloudy. Periods of rain with a chance for a thunderstorm.
Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Breezy and very comfortable.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Beautiful. Cool morning.
Thursday: Sunshine then increasing clouds with chance for showers and thunderstorms.
Friday: Mostly cloudy. Chance for showers and thunderstorms.
